Search Jasper Court Dockets

Need a Jasper court docket? Start by figuring out which office holds the paper. A city parking notice may still sit with Jasper city staff, while a filed traffic or ordinance case belongs to Dubois County's trial courts. Once you know the stage, the official state tools let you run a Jasper court docket search. Public entries can show case status, court dates, event history, and linked documents. The clerk of the circuit court remains the source for an official copy. Knowing the difference keeps Jasper readers from mistaking a city notice for a Chronological Case Summary, or CCS, before any case has reached court.

Jasper Parking Notice or Docket

Jasper enforces parking before any case reaches a courtroom. The official city parking page lays out two-hour and all-day zones, enforced from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. A first notice costs $10. A second notice for $30 may follow by mail two to six weeks later. Those figures describe Jasper parking administration, not a public CCS in MyCase.

County CCSDubois County ClerkThe official event history after filing

The city source says the Police Chief or City Attorney may file a notice in court. It also states a conviction can carry a $50 fine plus court costs and attorney fees. Filing is therefore a later possible step, not an automatic result of every Jasper notice.

The Jasper Municipal Court

Jasper has no separate municipal court, Odyssey code, docket portal, calendar, or court payment portal. Jasper City Hall is the local starting point for city parking administration. You will find it at 610 Main Street, Jasper, Indiana 47547-0029. The main phone is 812-482-4255. City Hall does not hold a certified county CCS.

When a traffic matter is filed into the Dubois County courts, local rule LR19-AR1-1 assigns all traffic to Dubois Superior Court. The county courts and Clerk operate at One Courthouse Square. Jasper city and county offices sit close together in the county seat. Their records serve different roles. Ask which office created the paper before requesting a copy.

Key distinction: Jasper has a city parking process, but the court search begins only after a case reaches a Dubois County trial court.

Jasper Parking Appeal Terms

The Jasper parking source describes an appeal to the Board of Public Works and Safety at a regular meeting. That route is not the same as contesting a charge filed in Superior Court. Follow the instruction and deadline printed on the notice. Opening MyCase does not replace the Jasper appeal. Paying a city notice does not resolve a separate court entry either.

City appeal
The local review route Jasper describes for a parking notice.
Court appearance
A scheduled judicial event after a matter enters a court docket.
CCS entry
A dated description of a court event in Indiana's official trial-court docket.
Reset
A change to a setting date or time, not a dismissal.

If Jasper staff says a matter was filed, ask for the court and the case or citation number. That data makes the county search far more exact.

Jasper Court Dates and Settings

A Jasper court date may surface in the MyCase CCS, CourtCal, a notice, or an order. Any of those can show the setting. When dates conflict, the latest order and the assigned court control. Superior Court is 812-481-7070, and the Traffic Violation Bureau is 812-481-7071. Dubois County publishes no confirmed daily printed-calendar schedule. The courts offer no official local reminder program.

DateThe event date shown in CourtCal, the CCS, or an order
TimeThe listed start time, checked for later changes
LocationThe hearing location or courtroom in the current setting
CourtUsually Dubois Superior Court for filed traffic
Setting TypeInitial hearing, pretrial, motion, trial, plea, sentencing, or review

A setting only marks a scheduled event. It does not prove a trial occurred or show any result. Later Jasper CCS entries and public orders tell you what followed.

Jasper Court Search Fields

Use the narrowest reliable data first. A full case number beats a broad name query. Hyphens and leading zeroes may be omitted, but never guess the court code. Citation formats differ. When a Jasper citation number is rejected, Name search is the fallback.

Sounds-like search helps with tricky spellings. A trailing wildcard finds names beginning with entered text. Official help says the two tools cannot be combined. MyCase also caps results, so a broad Jasper search can come back incomplete.

Jasper Traffic Tickets

A ticket written in Jasper does not create a Jasper court. For a county-filed traffic charge, search the 19D01 Superior Court record. Indiana ePay works only when the ticket and court allow online payment. Payment is not a search substitute. The state also warns that online balances may be incomplete.

Paying and contesting are distinct choices. Follow the Jasper ticket for its due date, court, and allowed response. Anyone who wants to contest a filed charge should not pay first. Do not pay without understanding the effect. The Dubois County traffic court records explain the county citation and payment route.

Indiana State Police does not take ticket payments. The ticket and court control that route. If a Jasper parking matter has not reached court, use the city notice. Use the City Hall contact instead.

State court data will not surface a Jasper municipal docket or any private case result. The Southern District of Indiana CM/ECF information page shows the separate federal filing system instead.

A federal docket lives in PACER or CM/ECF. It never sits in Jasper city records or the Dubois County CCS, so search those systems directly rather than the county clerk.

Where Jasper Cases End Up

Custody of a record depends on case type and stage. Jasper staff handle only the administrative side of parking. From the moment a traffic case is filed, Superior Court holds the judicial case. The Clerk keeps its record. Other Jasper matters split along local civil or criminal lines. Circuit holds exclusive probate and juvenile work, while either county court takes other civil matters.

This is not an appeal ladder. It simply maps where to look once a matter moves from Jasper administration into a judicial case. Anything federal takes a separate Southern District route.

Jasper Court Docket Copies

MyCase is free, but it is not a certified record. For that, the Clerk charges $1 per page for a plain copy. Certification adds $3 to a pleading. A certified and exemplified copy runs $6 under the county fee lines. When you order, give the Jasper-related case number, the court, and the event or document. Add its date, and say whether you want a plain or certified copy. Jasper City Hall cannot certify a county court record.

A transcript is something else again. Request it from the responsible reporter rather than the CCS or the filed papers. For older civil, probate, criminal, or marriage material, try the Records Library at 812-481-7091.

Public Access to Jasper Court Records

Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records presume openness, with exclusions. MyCase shows only public, nonconfidential material online. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, confidential family, protection-order, and protected-identifier records may be limited. Some may be missing entirely. A blank Jasper result does not prove that no record exists.

Key Rules:

Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records set court-record access and exclusions.

Indiana Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3 supplies the public-records framework, while judiciary rules govern court files.

When a link is missing, ask the Clerk for public documents directly. Parties get MyCase party access after identity and address matching. Do not try to bypass a seal or pull redacted identifiers.

Jasper Court Search Gaps

A no-result screen is a prompt to try again, not a conclusion. Recheck the spelling. Search by citation, and drop a narrow date filter. Try both county codes when assignment is unclear. A transferred Jasper case may carry a changed number, and older files may simply not be online.

Then sort out the stage you are actually in. Jasper City Hall can answer a parking-process question. Superior Court or the Traffic Violation Bureau can confirm a filed traffic setting. The Clerk can locate and copy a public county record. Those separate channels protect the vital difference between a city notice, a calendar item, and the official CCS.
